Plan:

In the 1938 film version of "A Christmas Carol", Scrooge is taken to a
churchyard and shown his own grave. This, at last, weakens his character
and, in a rather blatant but significant simplification of Dickens,
he falls to his knees and begs "Don't let it end like this!"
The Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come doesn't bother to tell him
that he'll die anyway.
